Roland Koch, organ builder

Roland Koch Roland Koch started his organ building career in 1989 as apprentice with Orgelbau Graf AG in Oberkirch, Switzerland. He afterwards served some time as journeyman with Goetze & Gwynn in Welbeck, England and in 1996 he moved on to Scotland to work with Lammermuir Pipe Organs in Oldhamstocks. In 2000 he was engaged by Orgelbau Felsberg AG as freelance organ builder to help with the final set up in their workshop in Switzerland for a new organ destined for Japan. Back in Great Britain Roland Koch worked in England for Kenneth Jones Pipe Organs, an organbuilder based in Bray, Ireland. Moving back to Switzerland in 2002 he went on to take on engagements for Orgelbau Kuhn AG in Männedorf, for the Bottega Organara Giovanni Pradella in Berbenno, Italy as well as for Orgelbau Felsberg AG in Felsberg.

Roland Koch works part time for Späth Orgelbau AG in Rüti, Switzerland, tuning and maintaining organs and also runs his organ building business in the Engadine, a beautyful valley in the Swiss alps.
